August 2013 NewsletterA round up of news and views This year's AGM is on Thursday 12th September - Please join us! This is your chance to 'swop a frock' and learn how to 'jive for transition'! We are teaming up with 'Jive Temptation' to bring you an evening of modern jive, starting with a lesson from the experts, then a full-on dance session with great music. You will also have the chance to find out what Transition Marlborough has been up to over the past 12 months, swop your frock and other unwanted, but stylish items, watch a video of local people explaining why they joined the Transition movement and taste some home-made nibbles. There will also be a bar. The main event will be in the upstairs Assembly Room of the Town Hall starting at 7.30 pm, entrance is free, although there will be an opportunity to make a donation to cover costs. Additionally, TM Members will be invited to the Council Chamber at 6.45 pm for our official Annual General Meeting to vote for a new Chairperson and hear the Financial Report. The Great Textile Swop and Makeover! - Saturday, 28th September, 10am -1pm. Autumn is on its way and that means longer evenings and cooler nights. What a great opportunity to start draught proofing our homes and sorting out our winter wardrobe. If you fancy a bit of help and fun in the company of others, let’s get together and inspire and help each other to mend or upgrade our curtains, make door draught excluders, revamp our old jumpers or jackets, or do a swop and refashion into something else. Bring along your old clothes, curtains, bits of fabric, lace, buttons, whatever catches your eye and let’s get creative. There will be a small donation towards the cost of the venue. Call or text your interest to Lorna on 07969 537248, or email lornaharveyfrank@btinternet.com Give and Take Swap Stall - is now a regular feature at the Communities' Market.
