Bedding
Reuse
If donating to a charity shop, make sure the bedding is clean and in good reusable condition. Charity shops that accept bedding, including blankets, include: Prospect Hospice, Helen and Douglas House, RSPCA and Blue Cross, all in Marlborough High Street.
Use old sheets for covering furniture when painting, or cut them up to make dusters.
Recycle
Good quality sheets, blankets and duvet covers can be tied inside plastic bags and placed in kerbside collection black box or taken to the textile bank at Marlborough Household Recycling Centre. Do not put duvets or pillows in black box or textile bank.
If sheets etc are not in reusable condition, mark the bag ‘rags’ before placing in black box or textile bank. Rag is used to make carpet underlay, among other things.
