Books


Reduce/Reuse

Use your local library. If you are a member, and have a pin number (request one from library staff), you can request books from other branches through the Wilts Library website. They may also accept books in good condition.

Download e-books. You can buy or obtain free from various websites or borrow from the Wiltshire library website: check here.

Swap with friends. Buy from or donate to charity shops. The following charity shops will accept clean, undamaged books: Oxfam, Prospect Hospice, Helen and Douglas House, RSPCA and The Blue Cross, all in Marlborough High Street. Buy from or sell at car boot sales or community sale.  Take to Marlborough Household Recycling Centre and place in collection bin - if unsure, ask the guys on site.

Christian Aid accepts donations of non-fiction books in good condition; more details here. Contact 0870 078 7788 - they will send boxes to pack books and arrange free collection.

Recycle

Damaged books can be taken to Marlborough Household Recycling Centre and placed in cardboard recycling container.
