A round up of news and views

Thank you to Marlborough Town Council. On 9 December, the Finance and Policy Committee of Marlborough Town Council awarded Transition Marlborough a grant of £500. There was stiff competition for funds from other worthy causes and councillors debated at length whether to grant the full amount. We have now received the cheque and this will help to fund some of our projects planned for this year (see below).

Thinking of making a New Year's Resolution? - Why not join in one of these exciting green projects and help save the planet in 2014? Simply choose a project that appeals to you from the list below, then get in touch with the appropriate contact person to find out more. This could be a great opportunity to make new friends, seriously reduce carbon emissions and help keep Marlborough ahead of other transition towns in Wiltshire.

Green spaces	Mapping an open space near you - to identify owners, current use and wild-life habitats and protect it from inappropriate development	MTC will start writing Marlborough's Neighbourhood Plan in 2014.
