UN Climate Change Conference in Warsaw (COP 19) - keeps governments on a track towards 2015 climate agreement. Ed Davey, the UK's Climate Change Minister, said ''The UK’s key objective has been met....This was a conference that dealt with the nuts and bolts for the global agreement we believe is possible in 2015". New sites needed for Solar PV- At November Green Drinks, we heard that KCEL is looking for new sites to install Solar PV, to generate renewable, local energy. Click here for more information on solar electricity generation and biomass (wood chip/pellet) heating and to suggest a new project.

Have your say about charging for single-use plastic bags - The government plans to introduce a 5p charge for single use plastic bags. There is a public consultation on some aspects of this here if you'd like to make your thoughts known. It is open until 20 December.

Community Choir -  Local, community and fun: all things that Transition should be about. Marlborough's Community Choir ticks all the right boxes. Read about their Christmas concert, in aid of the Jubilee Centre, and find out how to obtain tickets here.

Wanted - Transition food lovers. We'd like to invite you to bring your ideas and enthusiasm to our Food Group. Whether you have an interest in growing, cooking or reducing food waste we want to meet you and hear how your ideas could become new food-related events. It might be planting an edible hedgerow or putting on a local food event. Contact food@transitionmarlborough.org with your details and any particular interest.

Do you fancy learning how to make cheese? - if so, check out this cheese-making course on 17th December. TM will pay half of the cost on condition that you share your new cheese-making skills with us (after you have had time to practise a bit, of course!) Practical Permaculture for Transition - so far 5 people have signed up for next year's course. You can view the 2014 programme and watch the video of last year's course at the bottom of the Permaculture Page. Please get in touch with us at permaculture@transitionmarlborough.org to book your place.

Swish and Swap Event - In spite of the cold wintery weather the Swishing Event organised by St.John's Marlborough Family and Friends, held last Wednesday evening in the Town Hall, went with a swing.  An opportunity to chat and socialise with a glass of bubbly got the evening off to a good start, and a wide selection of really lovely high-quality items changed hands.  Evening wear, pretty tops, smart day wear, shoes, bags, scarves were swapped with great enthusiasm by many that attended the evening, with a wide age range represented, so something for everyone!  A few lucky winners also went home with a raffle prize.  If you missed this, the good news is that a second Swish and Swop is in the planning stages for May, with some tweaks here and there to improve the actual logistics of how the event was staged, making it even more accessible to everyone.  What a great opportunity to restock your wardrobe in time for the holidays!
