April 2014 NewsletterA round up of news and views Seedling Swap - The Permaculture Group is giving away seedlings at next Sunday's Communities' Market on 4th May. Please bring your surplus seedlings along to swap or take some from the stall, in return for a small donation. European Elections - May 22nd This is your chance to vote for candidates that can represent your views on important issues such as traffic pollution, the decline in bees, draconian seed laws, fracking and the need to reduce GHGs in line with the IPCC's recent report on climate change, in the European Parliament. This election will be held under proportional representation, so every vote counts. Restoring the line to Malborough - Following our meeting with Claire Perry M.P. to discuss the benefits of having a station in Marlborough, (click here...) BBC Radio Wiltshire featured this issue throughout their 2.5 hour Breakfast programme on 17th April, when they interviewed Graham Francis and Peter Ridal, as well as several Marborough residents about their views on our plan, see: Marlborough £30 Million railway line restoration plan. The Sustainable Transport Group is now working with local rail enthusiasts to see whether we can get involved with Network Rail's GRIP process.
Cheese-making course This was a fun day, held in Alexandra's kitchen and led by Caroline, who taught us how to make two different types of cheeses - soft and 'camembert style'.
