Medicines

Do not dispose of old medicines/tablets down the toilet or sink or into household rubbish.  Return out of date or unwanted over-the-counter and prescription medicines/tablets to your pharmacist, for safe disposal.  Some pharmacies will also take back clean, unlabelled pill bottles for reuse – check with your pharmacy before returning them.

Unused animal medicines can be returned to vet surgeries.

Inhalers: GlaxoSmithKline collects used inhalers for recycling (see link). The only collection points at the moment are Co-op Pharmacy in Calne and Boots in Brunel Plaza, Swindon. Ask your local pharmacy if they will participate in the scheme.
