The UN conference on Climate Change: this is what the US Union of Concerned Scientists said: "While governments avoided disaster in Durban, they by no means responded adequately to the mounting threat of climate change. The decisions adopted here fall well short of what is needed. It's high time governments stopped catering to the needs of corporate polluters, and started acting to protect people..." The Transport Group recently teamed up with the Bedwyn Train Passenger Group to survey morning and evening commuters at Bedwyn station. You can view the results of this survey here... New plastic bottle and cardboard kerb-side collection: a big step change to the amount of recycling we can do is now in place with the new kerbside collection, but what happens to everything we 'bin'? Read about the Recycling team's recent visit to the Hills Recycling Centre. The new Government Renewable Heat Incentive: this new and very innovative Government scheme is starting to come into force. The non-domestic scheme was launched at the end of November and a domestic scheme will be available in the New Year. The TM Energy Group will be looking at this in great detail since it could have a significant impact on how we heat our homes using renewable biomass - but meanwhile you can read the details of the DECC announcement here.
